Our Carlton Store Is Officially Open

271 Lygon Street is now home to our flagship Yo‑Bar store, and honestly… It’s been a pretty wild ride getting here.

Not that long ago, this space was an empty shopfront ... and suddenly we had two weeks to turn it into the most dreamy frozen yoghurt store we could imagine.

We documented the whole thing as we went, taking our social media community along for the build. From the rough‑in stage to plastering, flooring, and all those final finishing touches that somehow take the longest. Dust everywhere, long days, lots of decision‑making - but watching it slowly become Yo‑Bar made it all worth it.

Once the doors were nearly ready to open, the store really came to life.

12 frozen yoghurt machines, 3 flowing sauce taps, 60+ toppings!

Plus upgraded indoor and outdoor seating designed for long hangs. From day one, this space was built to be our flagship, a place to settle in, try everything, and come back again.

So when we announced the opening, we went big.

We gave away 300 free fro‑yo bowls, and the first 100 people through the doors scored exclusive Yo‑Bar merch and a spin of our prize wheel.

The wheel was stacked with discounts, giveaways, and prizes from some iconic brands we love — including Allkinds, NYX Cosmetics AU/NZ, Naked Sundays, Luv Sky, Pasta Prego, Beauty Bar, Glitter Girl and DB Cosmetics.

What we didn’t fully expect was just how many people would turn up. By 10 am, well over 300 people were already lined up, and before long, half of Lygon Street was basically stopped while the queue wrapped around the block. Seeing that many people waiting to try their new local Yo‑Bar on opening day was genuinely such a warm feeling for our team; the hard work had all paid off. We have had many big store openings in the past, but this one was by far the biggest, and we couldn't be more grateful.

From 7 pm through to close, the energy didn’t drop. A DJ kept things moving, the store stayed buzzing, and we ran buy one, get one free fro‑yo to keep the night rolling

We’re so excited to now be part of the Lygon Street community. This store already feels special, and we know it’s going to be home to so many memories.

Carlton, we’re officially here.
